It is estimated that, through all of our programs, we are serving at least 40,000 different people annually. Nearly 40% of them are children and almost 10% are seniors. Your food donations go a long way in feeding hungry individuals and families in Northeast Iowa.
Benefits of Donating
Under the Good Samaritan Act, businesses are protected from liability when donating in good faith to a nonprofit organization.
Donations are fully tax-deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.
We Handle Your Donations Safely
Employees who handle food donations have been trained in food safety. Our trucks are refrigerated to ensure temperature control from pick-up to delivery.
The Northeast Iowa Food Bank makes sure that product that leaves our warehouse or the Cedar Valley Food Pantry is able to be recalled if necessary.
Donated items may be picked up from your business Monday through Friday with a minimum of two-day’s notice to the Food Bank.
When donating to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, you are helping hungry families and individuals in Northeast Iowa! We will try our best to recognize your efforts whether it be on our Web site, in our quarterly newsletter, through our thank you receipts, and by word of mouth!
