Student Food Drive

The purpose of the Student Food Drive is to unite and empower area high school students in the commitment to feed hungry families and to promote volunteerism. Students from seven local schools will host events and fundraisers in an effort to collect or purchase food for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. The Student Food Drive serves as a friendly competition which will benefit the needy in Northeast Iowa, as well as the students and schools involved.

Holiday Gift Wrap 2014

The season of giving will soon be here, and the Northeast Iowa Food Bank is again offering a gift-wrapping service to shoppers of College Square Mall in Cedar Falls and also Crossroads Mall in Waterloo. Please visit either location to have your holiday gifts wrapped for a free-will monetary donation to the Food Bank.

You can also contact the Food Bank to donate gift wrap, boxes and other supplies needed for the annual Gift Wrap event, as we are responsible for providing all of the materials.

If you would like to volunteer during this holiday season, please contact Patrick Bird, Volunteer Coordinator at pbird@feedingamerica.org or call 319-235-0507.

Outnumber Hunger

For the third year, we're teaming up with General Mills, Big Machine label Group (including dynamic country music duo Florida Georgia Line) and Feeding America to Outnumber Hunger.  By redeeming a special code from a General Mills participating product and including a local zip code, Northeast Iowan's can provide meals in our community for those who might otherwise go without.  For every code entered before January 31, 2015, General Mills will donate 55.5 cents and up to $1,200,000 dollars! Visit www.OutnumberHunger.com for more details!

Great American Milk Drive

Milk is one of the items most requested by clients, yet there is a nationwide shortage because it is rarely donated. Nearly half of the nation’s food banks get fewer than 24 gallons of milk donated per week. This campaign makes it easy for people to donate with a simple text or click of the mouse and help families in their own communities. Donations will go to local food banks based on the donor’s zip code and be distributed in the form of milk coupons. The goal of the campaign is to deliver two million gallons of milk to food banks across the country. The campaign runs through April 1, 2015.
