Back to School Project

The Back to School Project provides new school supplies
to students in Black Hawk County who otherwise may not be able to afford
them. During the month of July, students can register at the Northeast
Iowa Food Bank to receive supplies for the upcoming 2010 – 2011 school
year. Registration will take place from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through
Thursday and from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Friday. Registration is necessary so
that each student receives the supplies requested by their school for
their grade. Students who attend school in Black Hawk County and who are
in Kindergarten through Middle School qualify for the program. Contact Ruth Orth at 319-240-7470

The 2009 Student Food Drive raised 45,447 pounds of food for the Northeast
