Personal Care Drive
The Northeast Iowa Food Bank will be holding the 2019 Personal Care Drive from July 1st to August 12. During this event, local churches, organizations, and businesses will be collecting personal care items, such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, and diapers.
An estimated 48,000 northeast Iowans struggle with food insecurity. Many of them also struggle to provide personal care items for their families, and government food assistance programs such as SNAP do not provide assistance for purchasing personal care items. No access to personal care items leads to poor hygiene, health issues among both adults and children, and damage to a family’s well-being.
Donated items will be distributed among over 200 local food pantries, soup kitchens, and other nonprofit agencies in 16 northeast Iowa counties. If you would like to be a donation site or contribute to the the 2019 Personal Care Drive, please call us at (319)-235-0507or email Agnes Kress at email@example.com.
