School aged children have access to meals throughout the school year through the free and reduced meal program. Have you ever wondered what happens to those children who are chronically hungry in the summer when school is not in session?
The Northeast Iowa Food Bank partners with the USDA to help cover that need by partnering with local organizations to provide lunch when school is not in session.
In the summer of 2016, the NEIFB’s Summer Feeding Program was at 10 sites throughout the Cedar Valley and served over 5,000 meals to children who are hungry in the Cedar Valley.
