Mobile Food Pantries
Delivering monthly meals to rural northeast Iowa communities
Some communities don't have a grocery store. Some don't even have a gas station. That makes getting groceries difficult.
The Mobile Pantry Program serves families, individuals, and seniors in areas of high need in an effort to supplement other hunger-relief agencies in that area. Through our Mobile Food Pantries, a truckload of food is distributed in pre-packed boxes or through a farmers market-style distribution where those attending have the ability to choose and take what they need.
Mobile Food Pantries can be found in 13 communities in northeast Iowa, reaching an average of 80 families each month at these sites. Each distribution provides between 8,000 to 8,500 pounds of food to those attending a mobile pantry.
